Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

After completing my Masters last year and taking a short break from study I decided I wanted to continue being involved in the research aspect of podiatry and continue to expand my knowledge as well as establishing AXIS Podiatry. In February 2004 I therefore decided to enrol on a Professional Doctorate programme at the University of Salford. This is again a part time course over a period of 5 years. I hope to get involved in research relevant to my profession and the development of myself as a practitioner.

As well as being involved in research I try to keep up to date with the knowledge base and evidence around regarding biomechanics and the treatment of sports injuries. This means reading journals, research papers and attending regular updates, conferences and courses. The following table lists the most recent and relevant CPD that I have completed and that which I plan to complete before the end of 2006.
